I chose biomedical engineering for a reason I've never really outgrown: it's technology that ends up inside someone's life.

For my master's thesis I built 3D-printed silicone phantoms of patient brain arteries, to watch how blood actually moves through them — months of CAD, printing and pressure sensors, all to answer a question you can't ask a living patient. It's still the best description of what I enjoy: building the thing that lets you finally see what's going on.

That curiosity never stayed in the lab. I follow technology the way other people follow sport — what's being built, why it works, what it quietly replaces. And I've spent years on personal finance, which surprises people until I explain the appeal: markets are a system where you can't fake understanding. You're proven wrong slowly, in public, and only patience compounds.

The thread is the same everywhere. I want to understand how a complex thing works before deciding what to do about it.
